The application does not allow LVL beams to be used because the engineering properties are different.

What types of structures can I create?

Post Frame Designer creates square or rectangular free-standing structures. There is no ability to add lean-to additions to the structure. Post Frame Designer allows you to design open or closed wall post frame structures. The type of structure can be selected by one of the following methods:

  • In the Home ribbon menu, select Modify, followed by Normal Side Wall or Open Side Wall. The Normal Side Wall option creates a structure with four complete walls. The Open Side Wall option creates a structure without a wall on the right side of the structure.
  • Click the Design button, followed by File, followed by Open Project. This will display the Project Browser, which allows you to choose pre-designed post frame structures, and post frame structures that you have saved as projects. The first Project Browser provides two options: Normal Side, which creates a post frame structure with four complete walls, and Open Side, which creates a post frame structure without a wall on the right side of the structure. After choosing the desired style, you can then choose from pre-designed post frame structures of different sizes.

Post Frame Designer does not include the ability to customize the interior of the structure.
